BRIEF HISTORY OF BMMA AND THE ACTIVITIES TO DATE
BMMA was incorporated in Nov 1993 in New York State and has the tax exempt Charitable status of 501(c)3.
v The Mission was primarily founded to serve the incarcerated inmates of the correctional institutions in USA and neighboring countries. BMMA receives over 140 letters per month.
v In 1993 BMMA visited Trinidad and began missionary work there.
v 1994 Established a madressah in Berbice, Guyana
v 09-11-2001 Interfaith activities in full force
v Board member of Interfaith Council of Central Florida
v 2003 Board member of Community Clergy Council,
v 2004 representing Islam at End of Life Symposium of Orlando regional healthcare.
v 2005 relocated from New York to Longwood Florida
Immediate Goals
v To establish a Seminary to teach Islam to Muslims and non-Muslims.
v To cater for spiritual needs of our youths in Orlando and Central Florida region.
v To hold seminars and dialogues with Muslims and non-Muslims on Islam and other topics.
v To continue serving the incarcerated inmates in the correctional institutions.
v To participate in medical relief activities in times of emergencies.
v To promote better understanding of Islam and its true values.
v Establish relationship with other Muslim Organizations in Florida.
No mountain is too high for those who share their strengths and rely on one another for support
BMMA resolves to
• Hold the torch together under the banner of Imame Zamana (ATFS) and
dedicate ourselves to the noblest of causes
• Build a stronger Da’wa/Tableegh network
• Prepare a stronger and more spiritual community in the service of mankind.
• Keep in mind the millions of our brethren in the Third World and Islamic countries whom we can lend a helping hand in terms of Da’wa and other resources
• Contribute to the process, be part of the light and benefit from the light at the same time
Bilal Muslim Mission of Americas needs your help and support. Let us work together to serve mankind spiritually and otherwise.
A modest but effective learning seminary needs to be established to teach Islam original. This could be complimented with internet distant learning and be an accredited institution.
The goal is to serve with simplicity and sincerity. Da’wa for the Non Muslims and Tableegh for our youths locally and via internet and radio.
